The owners chose this site - a cliff overlooking a pristine mountaincreek - because of this wonderful water feature. Accordingly, thedesign challenge was to incorporate the creek into the design by making it visible from every major space of the house, designed as a series of protruding trays stepping down the ravine. The moment you enter the front door, the creek is visible at the end of the main stairway, and remains the focal point of the residence as you travel through it.
