Aside from the professional and educational benefits, very simply - for the commanding ability to customize. Your house should be the ultimate reflection of your own unique lifestyle and also extract every natural and latent benefit your building site offers. "Spec" homes can't offer the custom fit or inspired feel that architects can craft, and moreover, many stock plans can't provide the unique integration between building and site that’s imperative in good design.
Experence

I have been a licensed Architect for over 30 years building a professional resume of considerable diversity and breadth as designer, project executive, construction manager, researcher, educator, and contracting officer. My projects have ranged from creation of the Smithsonian's National Building Museum in Washington D.C., to international project management; from the renovation of Ronald Reagan's post-presidential residence in Bel Aire, to the recent design and construction management of the multiple award winning United States Courthouse in Eugene, Oregon, (below), acclaimed by international design critics as the most significant American public building of the past 50 years.

Court House

My primary passion though remains with the intimacy and personal collaboration inherent with residential and small scale commercial design. I have designed numerous homes and structures on both sides of the Cascades, each of which provides this "custom fit" of style and site that's essential to good architectural design. I currently live and practice in Anacortes Washington and am open to design commissions throughout the Puget Sound area.
Expreience Collage
Since a strong coordinated relationship between the architect and client is so vital, I typically provide no cost/no obligation initial consultations until a common vision can be established.
